The only full Marathon event on offer in the Nelson – Tasman region.

The Monaco Marathon boasts one of the most scenic and the most affordable marathons in the country.
The event is now in its 10th year and organised by Nelson Tasman Community Sport Events Inc, a not-for-profit organisation whose ethos is to promote participation in sport whilst raising much needed funds for good causes in the Nelson Tasman Area. Details of our other events can be found HERE.
The idea of this event is to break down the barriers to participation and give everyone a good chance to compete in or complete a full marathon (42.2km) running/walking event.
The event boasts both a solo full marathon, with run or walk options. For those with a little less confidence, you can enter as a two-person relay and do approximately a half marathon each or get together with some mates and enter as a four-person team.

The Monaco Mid Winter Marathon is the ultimate first timer friendly event. The emphasis is on having fun and rewarding participation rather than winners.
We have made the registration for this event super easy and cost effective for participants.
The Marathon takes in a stunning waterfront course starting at the picturesque peninsula of Monaco, rounding the Waimea Inlet, passing farms and orchards with the turn around point the local favourite of Rabbit Island.
The Monaco Marathon is special in the fact that any surplus funds generated from your entry fees are donated to good causes.
